People import cars from the States into Baja all the time. Got a friend that did it a month ago so his workers could drive it (I asked why not just buy them a $3000 clunker vs the $5000 to import but whatever). To import the vehicle it must be done at the border with the vehicle present. Any so called broker that says they can get around it is a scam--ask me why I know this.....

Please take note, he said Nationalize that is registration legal on the mainland.

I'm sure it will have to be done at a border city of the mainland.

FRONTERA is one hell of a lot easier and cheaper than NACIONALIZADO (all of Mexico). Only absolutely brand-new and '03 cars can be nationalized. A 40,000 dollar '99 Range Rover cost an acquaintance 90,000 pesos plus four thousand for plates in 2009. I believe a permanent resident permiso de migratoria is necessary to obtain papers in one's name.
