Looking for road and camping info for this area north of La Paz. We have a 4 wheel drive and are towing a small, light 5th wheel. Would like to camp
close to San Juan then explore w/o trailer up to San Evaristro. Road conditions? Camping safety? Etc?
Muchas gracias!David K - 3-24-2013 at 05:12 PM
Use Nomad search, there was a thread not long ago on this. Maps included. Welcome to this site and please give us a report upon your return!BajaBlanca - 3-24-2013 at 06:11 PM

I have been as far north as San Juan twice in the last few months - road is fine that far. You should be able to find a beach campsite along there
and then four wheel up to San Evaristo.Alan - 3-30-2013 at 05:02 PM
I headed up towards Punta Murchudo a couple of years ago just to explore but they had the road closed when I got to the mine. Is there another route
around it?Martyman - 4-1-2013 at 11:04 AM
Drove a rental truck to Punta Mechudo a few years back. Hooked a dorado from shore!Alan - 4-2-2013 at 06:36 AM

Did you drive through
the mine or around it?Sandlefoot - 4-2-2013 at 08:12 AM
Just as you get to town you need to find a road that takes you to the water. The road north follows the sea around the mine. It does take you by the
mine ore loading point. Big conveyor out into the sea. Been up there a few times and there are lots of roads that go down to the water. Find one
and keep going up the coast.
Happy Trails
