An interesting documentary, and I'm sure producing it was an eye opening experience for the students involved.

As recently as six or seven years ago, on a calm fall day on the Pacific outside Mag Bay, it was not uncommon to spot the corpses of 6 or 8, or more, dead sea turtles by scanning the water from a stationary boat. All of them by-catch from the nets and hooks of local fishermen. It is now unusual to see a single dead turtle. This change was brought about in large part by the efforts of Grupo Tortuguero de las Californias and Hoyt Peckham.
