Hi all! I've been lurking for a long time but figured that with a trip approaching I should finally sign up for the forum so I can pick your brains a
bit.
My latest itinerary has me crossing into Mexico at Los Algodones Sunday May 5. Yes, 5 de mayo!
Am I crazy? Will I be able to get my inmigracion paperwork done and pay my fee? Am I being paranoid or should I wait until monday?
This will be my first time in Baja in 6 years, and I'm stoked for a 10-day escape.

Going into Baja is really never a issue with traffic. Even on Easter....going into wasn't a problem. Leaving ....there is
always a wait. Mexicali new gate is best for us. Never been in line for more that 45 minutes.....unless it was a weekend or holiday. I've learned to
take a book.....
Los Algodones gate....I cannot say having never been there.

Gotta agree. Have talked to some Mexican friends and they do not even know what Cinco de Mayo is. I'll explain. "Oh yeah, now I remember that from
school". (This is from a small village 1,000 miles from the border)
However, I believe, that the FIRST of May is an official Mexican holiday. Dia de Trabajo or Labor Day. Government offices closed, banks closed,
workers get paid for the holiday w/o working, etc.
