Is anyone familiar with this one? The INEGI topo shows it leaving Hwy 1 at about 31°15'N, 7 or 8 mile south of SV, heading east into the hills, 30 mi
or so to V.Trinidad.
I'd like to find an area to lease a hectare to park an RV, up in the hills, have nice cool summers - still be fairly close to medical care, etc. - Far
enough away to be not too expensive.
I guess the same might apply to the road to Meling & the Observatory - I haven't driven that one either... yet!

It's at KM102/103. Road is usually in good shape for a dirt road. Used by the locals and also in the Baja 500 race and some of the Baja 1000 races
that don't go to La Paz or Cabo.
The Observatory road is paved from hwy 1 to the park.
Check with Mike at http://bajadarkskies.com about who to contact for the land. Mike has a B&B and telescope time rental just past the Meling ranch and is a
Nomad.

NEIL...
Been across it a couple of times...both times headed west to Hwy. 1. Once was in my F250 with my full size Callen Camper, pulling a 14' Carson
utility trailer loaded with 2 quads... and once on a quad.
Most of the road was easy to drive and not to hard on the combined rig. In the hills it was somewhat tricky at times (narrow road with cliff on left
side) but nothing I/IT was not able to handle. Did have a trailer flat which slowed my trip temporarily
...I had to pound out the rim and refill the tire.
The quad was a blast....hauled ass the whole way and it was FUN!!!!
There is some very scenic country up there...As Mcfez says in his current post, there's some pretty country on the eastern end in Valle de
Trinidad....and the western half is scenic. If I recall correctly, the middle part was more barren.
Well worth the drive to explore the area!
