One Hour Border Wait in the Ready Lane at Otay Today, 18 April

Gypsy Jan - 4-18-2013 at 05:33 PM

Entered the line at 9:00 am, out at 10:00 am.

Considering the recent tragic events, I thought that we might have problems.

That wasn't the case. Our inspector was one of the friendly, jolly types - his opening greeting was "Hola" and we responded, "Hi".

Mija (daughter) has a passport, but no Passport card; it didn't phase the agent. He looked at our documentation and asked, "OK you are W.... (hubby), he said Yes. Then he asked our daughter, you are "M....?" She responded, "Yes."

Then he looked at me and asked, "How do you pronounce your name, "J...?" And I answered him.

He then waved us through.

Not bad......considering.
I was 90 minutes at Tecate last Sunday, 10-AM.

Hey Dennis, Right Now Otay is Very Efficient

The authorities seem to be focusing there on facilitating traffic.

There are cops preventing "pulgas" (lane cutters) and all kind of other actions to keep things orderly.

If you are going north and take the highway to the "Cinco y Diez" shopping area, the main road leads you into an orderly line up for the Otay border.

Who knows how long this will last?

;D
