Basically, the stand is just a large piece of tarp stretched out overhead as a roof and others draped down the sides for walls. The space is large
enough for a large center and two flanking aisles and a back counter.
Purchases are weighed on an old-fashioned shovel scales and the amount is totaled on handheld calculators.
Needless tp say. the interior is very dim and the business closes at dusk.
I love shopping here, the selection, the quality and the smiles.
I was waiting behind a somewhat grandmotherly-looking lady while she completed her purchase. She looked over at my small bag of fresh Habanero
peppers and quietly said to me, "No bueno, no bueno", trying to communicate that she thought that the peppers were too old and not good for using in
cooking.
I smiled and explained that we were going to make a paste with the peppers and Vaseline and paint it on our dog door so the Rottie puppies would stop
chewing it up.
She laughed and agreed that, in that case, the peppers were "muy bueno".

Some of those casual, personal interaction with Mex
locals stay with me forever, being a tourist and
never have lived in Mex, these are somewhat rare to me,
was in a small town just so.
of Barra de Navidad, waiting for siesta to get over
and purchase an Aeromexico tkt, from all things a
pharmacy, happen to be a beer stand attended by
2 teenage girls, heard some giggling as they set
their English homework in front of me, for the next hr.
became a tutor, diagraming sentences,etc. good fun

just be sure not to reach for the wrong jar. you know, when removing make up!
