We're moving to Cabo next month through the end of the year and I'd like to set my expectations as I work for a US company that requires a lot of
video conferencing. 10 MBPS download and 768 KBPS upload would do the job. Tel Mex state this to be available and mentioned the possibility of an
additional 10 MBPS . This would be awesome! But is it realistic?

Telmex offers three plans: 5, 10 and 20 down. With 5 down you could get 768 K up and with 10 down 1.3 up. Not sure of the 20 mbs plan which is 900
pesos a month. Speeds are subject to distance from switching gear and quality of lines.
I have found the speeds are usually lower than advertised but not by much. Sometimes the higher speeds are not available if you are too far from their

should be to the TelMex store in CSL and figure out our limitations in terms of areas as you mentioned.

I'll second greengoes message. Advertised speeds will be at the central office and go downhill from there. Copper is not a great conductor of
broadband and distance matters. That said, I was pleasantly surprised when I rented a house in the Loma Azul area of Mulege (a couple miles from city

It will all depend on where you are at in CSL, the max speed varies a lot from one area to another, don't just assume that because you pay for the

Pedregal but as you all mention, infrastructure is everything so its a case of where the Tel Mex infrastructure is.

Others have provided important considerations ..
Each house/condo/unit in building/complex/development can have differences in service ..
One must learn to roll with this sort of thing, as there are going to be many others, and definitely adjust expectations.
Don't expect to hear 'truth' from Telmex, so always have plan B ready.

We actually have a Mac Mini hooked into the TV that we use for most shows to be honest. We watch some cable but not a lot these days except for the

Sorry I dont know anything about their internet services.

Shaw special For Canadian snowbirds...If you are a Shaw Satellite subscriber, they will send you a free dish and a receiver for $50 to your Canadian
address. Once you get it set up Baja, you activate the service and get a rebate for the receiver. One can't get Shaw phone or Internet via cable, but
Shaw will suspend your cable TV subscription while you are away.
