Anybody noticing any longer waits to get back into the states lately because of the sequester/furlough situation? The Wonderer - 4-26-2013 at 08:20 AM
I came back thru Mexicali West on 4/6, wait was 15 min w/ Sentri pass. Usually its less than 5 min.Pompano - 4-26-2013 at 08:33 AM
Tecate last Saturday was 1 hour 45 minutes...a good average for the last couple of years. Pause for questions at US Customs entry gate was minimal.jodiego - 4-26-2013 at 08:39 AM
More specifically, San Ysidro/Otay.durrelllrobert - 4-26-2013 at 09:19 AM

I cross San Ysidro 2 or 3 times a week around 5 to 7PM, have not noticed any change in wait, I use "ready lane".jodiego - 4-26-2013 at 10:11 AM

I don't know why I keep getting in the lane to the left of the SD lane and then having to figure out how to get back on track. This time I kept left
and went to the little toll booth instead of continuing into TJ. They asked for the tourist pass which I didn't have, of course. Seems there are some
bar & restaurants that sell these for $200 pesos. So I pay the $200 and am dropped off only 10 cars back from the border. Crossed in 15 min. Best
mistake and $200.Bajahowodd - 5-27-2013 at 04:59 PM
Last month, 20 minutes at Tecate.
Problem is that with just a couple of gates, you really need to decide "when" to head there. We were there on a Tuesday around noon. And by the way,
what's with the weather? It was 56 degrees in Tecate just after noon on April 15.Udo - 5-27-2013 at 06:10 PM
Tecate, this past Saturday...2hrs, 20 minutes, but the line was moving regularly.
They changed the approach for the line queue... if the line is longer than normal (normal is about the top of the hill), one now makes a right at the
border fence wall and fall in line wherever the line starts along the border wall. No more waiting on the boulevard and being guided by cops.
Several times a person tried to cut in line, including a motorhome, but they eventually gave up and went to the end of the line, about a block away.
The CBP agents said they were working on adding an extra agent of the RFID lane, but it may be after the sequestration crap is over.
Came across at Mexicali east on Memorial Day, ZERO wait and made it to Far East Mesa, AZ in 5:45 from San Felipe
Ready lane requirements?

The passport card, which is the size of a credit card, RFID, and issued by the passport office, works. I think the new regular passports work also but
not sure.Terry28 - 5-28-2013 at 09:35 PM
Nope, for some reason the new passports do not work in that lane, passport cards do and some state drivers licenses...not calif, though...at least no
yet.
A couple of other doc's are sentri cards and trusted traveler cards., among others..Martyman - 5-29-2013 at 01:44 PM
