I took this from the Punta Banda Bulletin Board:
==============
For everyone that went to Butch's 2 Buck Chuck party last year, you will probably remember Sean!!
He was the 10 year old that played the guitar and sang in Spanish. Sean totally astounded all of us
with his amazing talent and great voice. Even the Mexicans in the campground came by and were
amazed to see this young "white boy" singing. When he finished his performance, the Mexicans paid
him to come and entertain them!!!
Well, Sean was selected out of more than 1000 tryouts for the Mexican Voice (like our VOICE onTV)
It is on Telemundo, a Spanish channel.
He has now made it through 4 eliminations. To qualify for this program, you have to speak Spanish,
write Spanish and read Spanish. He does it all! Congratulations to Sean!!!!
He also participated in a Mariachi contest here in Ensenada.
Other than all of this, Sean is such a great kid, so polite to everyone and very modest.
He went to school here in La Jolla for some time to learn Spanish.
I am sure Butch and Liz (from La Jolla Beach Camp) are very proud of all of his accomplishments!!!

I agree.
Another thing he has going for him is Telemundo is a US station out of Florida. If the event was on a station out of Mexico, he wouldn't stand a
chance. Mexicans still insist Linda Ronstadt can't sing Mariachi because she isn't Mexican.
Can you imagine that? Linda Ronstadt can't sing Mariachi. Talk about a tough audience.EnsenadaDr - 5-14-2013 at 04:38 PM
Dennis, I thought Banda was revolting to you!! Did Linda Ronstadt change your mind?DENNIS - 5-14-2013 at 04:39 PM

Ronstadt sings Mariachi. I don't even think that racket, Banda, has words.
"Canciones de Mi Padre"
"Mas Canciones de Mi padre"
Something like that.
Look'em up.EnsenadaDr - 5-14-2013 at 04:45 PM

When we used to ride our GOLDWING throughout Baja, we ALWAYS had on a Linda Ronstadt CD for music.
Made a lot of friends that way. "CANCIONES DE MI PADRE was our favorite album.
We always play La Charreada when we want to show off the stereo in the FJ.
Juan is the only one who has heard it full blast while riding in the FJ.
