I've had Sentri for over 6 years... and never had a problem getting to the Sentri Lanes until last Wednesday.
I suppose due to the road construction on the MX side of the border... my husband and I, in separate vehicles were diverted onto TJ city streets but
finally got to the rapid east road to the airport and Tecate. We take the local lanes for a few blocks then loop onto Blvd. Cuauhtemoc to cross the
TJ river, then turn left onto Padre Kino, which used to take us right to the Sentri lanes... Not this time... cops had this route right at the border
blocked.
I spent the next two hours, going around in circles but still could not locate how to successfully get onto the correct road that would allow me to
get to the Sentri lanes...
I ended up in the ready lanes... the Sentri lanes were right next to me with people zooming by, while I stewed for 45 minutes just sitting in ready
lane traffic. Finally near the border I begged a border patrol agent to please let me into the Sentri. I told him my story, after checking my car
sticker and my Sentri card, he did and all I could say was "God bless you". My husband did the same looping around, and finally found a way to
Sentri, but didn't remember exactly how.
So does anyone have a good route onto the road that leads directly to the Sentri lane, they would share? The name of that road would be most
appreciated! (Even my Garmin Mexico Maps at that point were useless...)
Thanks, Linda
