Francisco

Meet Francisco, my friend who'll be hanging here a few days.

His father and brothers are trimming date palms here in my neighborhood.

Javi, from Francisco Javier, is one of six sons, 27 years old with a great mind.

His father has raised his sons alone, Javi's mom leaving after his birth.

Born with cerebral palsy, Javi walks in a miraculous balancing act.

Request: If anyone stumbles on butt simple alpha numeric Spanish sign language images, be limited to his left hand but he'd learn it. Kind of like hearing for the first time . . . communicate out side of the box . . . for a first time. Thanks

What a wonderful smile
I hope that you find someone to help him.

Just sent off a note to an old friend, Senior Director, Division of Speech-Language Pathology at a great University. See where it goes . . .

Years ago, that young man spent many a day inside my casa while his dad was doing some brick work for me.

He is a very pleasant young man and his father, Jose Luis, is to be highly admired for his patience in raising him.

It's called Love.
Only special people have this capability.

Rock and Roll Progress

Jose Luis continued further on Franciso this morning. Javi clothes himself completely with the exception of buttons and snaps, feeds with plate, utensils, cups and glasses hot or cold. He forgets nothing and communicates extensively to a point. He tells his father of a visitor coming by in a grey truck etc. etc. but not perhaps the man's name.

With this chart, http://www.deafblind.com/spainma.gif, the family is stoked to learn it.

Thanks for that chart
I grew up next to a deaf family and used to be able to communicate with them, but I had forgotten several of the letters.
I didnt know the sign for CH.....needless to say.

Thanks for sharing.

Your pics remind me of one of the joys of my job. Every year about 20% of my Computer Applications students have special needs.

This is Yoan. One of the bright spots in my teaching career.

I learn so much from my students.
