He is eighteen years old and has to work very hard to stand up,
He still climbs the stairs for his meals.
The Rottie puppies treat him like a king - licking and caressing him.
He becomes very embarrassed when he loses control of his bowels in the house, but he still has a good quality of life.

Isn't there some kind of doggie anti-inflammatory to help the old guy or is it too hard on the kidneys (a vet question).
