recent road report to San Luis Gonzage, La Pasion, Los Dolores?

We are thinking of doing a road trip to San Luis Gonzaga, the ruins of La Pasion and on out to the ruins of Los Dolores by the Sea of Cortez . . . and are wondering if anyone has been out there lately and what the roads are like.

The Cabalgata to San Luis Gonzaga is June 20th with a rodeo and crowning of the queen that evening in San Luis. . . . Should be fun . . . and then on to the ruins and coast.

Long Cabalgata - 45 KM from Ejido 5 out of Constitucion. 8 hours. So will try it out in the pickup first before thinking about the ride in 100 degree heat.

Jack Swords was at La Pasion not too long ago, and said a goat ranch had set up livestock pens on the mission rubble. Please take photos if you do go by... There are interesting ruins between there and Rancho La Presa just 2 miles west, including the grave of colonial Governor Fernando de la Toba (1821). See Jack's photos there on two pages beginning here: http://vivabaja.com/swords/page4.html

Photos and GPS at La Pasion (the final site for Mision Dolores) are here: http://www.vivabaja.com/missions1/page5.html

thanks, David.
Probably be hotter than hades around this time, but will try. It's either that or go to Mulege - best of 2 hotter than hots and humidity.

Have fun! Oh, by-the-way, Chris is doing well since he returned north... full time job with benefits, and helps me when I have work for him on his days off!
