Anyone driven the North Road (via Datil y salt flats) or East Road lately? I'm thinking of doing the East Road in and North Road out. Any help would
be appreciated.

i don't have a map in front of me but why not try the NE road that comes out in mulege instead of the purisima road. it'll be mostly downhill going
in. someone on a moto did it not too long ago. something different anyway....Ateo - 6-10-2013 at 07:17 PM
Woody, exactly the type of feedback I was looking for. I took that road from San Juanico to Mulege in 2007 after consulting with one of the SJ
Llantera's. Beautiful road and beautiful country. Not sure I could remember where it connected into Mulege if I was running it in reverse though.
That was quite a trip. Too bad I wasn't a Nomad then cuz I have some great pictures of dead goats hanging from a rancher's tree, bleeding them out,
somewhere.
I need a long range report for the surf man. I've gotten skunked too often.Sunman - 6-10-2013 at 07:51 PM
The road was great for us in April. We were laying fresh tracks behind the grader but caught it near Cadaje, I'm sure it's well washboarded by now.
Talk about blind luck, at least half the way was pleasant. Salt flats to the north road were fine/normal.woody with a view - 6-10-2013 at 07:53 PM
it is a long way to go, only to get there and the WindanSea, Sunset Cliffs, Malibu Surf clubs are entrenched along with 200 other random humans....
and then get skunked?BajaBlanca - 6-10-2013 at 07:57 PM
Talk to What is West guys...they are there right now, or at least they recently posted on facebook that they loved san juanico and loved the waves.Curt63 - 6-10-2013 at 08:23 PM

Amigo, check out willyAirstreams blog as it included partial video of backroad Mulege, La Ballena to San Juanico. It also has a few other gems. He
lives in Mulege and is a friendly Nomad. Juanico maxed out to Supreme last week as you can imagine; me & you a few of our best friends! TioTMW - 6-11-2013 at 07:13 AM
We did the North road inland along El Cuarenta and along the coast by El Datil in April both good. Did not do the San Raymundo route east due to them
cleaning it up, should be good now. Did from hwy 1 at KM60 to La Purisima and it was good.Ateo - 6-11-2013 at 08:16 AM
Thanks everybody. Well the forecast looks bleak for the next two weeks so I'm hoping something will come on the radar for my "window".
I don't think the surf clubs and 200 people show up if the forecast sucks. These days we know what's coming. =)
The only time I saw it crowded was for the macking swell in Summer 2009. Once the swell was over they all bailed and I had 7 days of great waves.
Thanks for the road reports all.BFS - 6-11-2013 at 10:16 AM
Not too bad last week. The current took care of the weenies...

Thanks for the photo BFS. Yep, that current does wonders.
