Whale hunting off the coast of Baja?

An old 16mm film of Norwegian whaling in the 1920s has surfaced on eBay.
The film title says "South Pacific", but from the still images, the location looks to be somewhere off the coast of Baja, maybe in the Sea of Cortez.

the attached story does say off the coast of mexico. and no vinegar odor! must be a film thing?
