1975 Baja 300 (Santo Tomas)
David K - 6-20-2013 at 07:04 PM
The Baja Racing Association ran the Baja 300 starting and ending at the El Palomar campground, in August of 1975.
I took this photo of 'some guy' named Ivan Stewart, who just won the race in a single seat race buggy:

Great place to eat despite all the cobweb covered beer cans on the ceiling.

It wouldn't be bad to watch it if you knew where it was going ahead of time.
From their web site:
I like this on using the Spot and adding their phone numbers.
Prior to the technical inspection on Friday October 4th, participants will need to configure their SPOT settings to include 2 BAJA RALLY mobile phone
numbers and 2 BAJA RALLY email addresses. As the final condition of clearing technical inspection, a rally official must receive the “OK” signal from
the participant.
The course:
The course route for each of 2 days will remain a vague mystery until the evening prior to the first stage when the road book is handed to each rider
after registration. The stages will be confined to within the boundaries of north western BAJA CA.
Support crew and chase teams:
Chase teams will have limited access to the course route because there is no outside assistance allowed to each rider. Riders and support crews will
be given the location of each days bivouac area prior to the rally beginning.
