Humidity-- 79%

Hate Wind?

You'd foam at the mouth in Bahia Asuncion.

El Comitan 1:12PM in the shade 78deg light westerly breaze, The good life!!!!

EnsenadaDr - 6-21-2013 at 12:18 PM

that area facing the bay gets a strong breeze in summer and a cold blustery wind in winter, I have never seen the area without some type of air blowing through it.

It's Pac Side Baja......wind.
Gulf Side......heat and humidity.
I'd take the wind if forced to make a choice.
If I were eighty years younger, I'd buy a sail boat.

shari - 6-21-2013 at 01:13 PM

it's 74 degrees....a chilly day but perfect for working in the garden and painting whilst humming a little tune...a cumbia to be exact...and there isnt much wind today...wooo hooo...perfect for a potluck at Campo Sirena hosted by RenoJoe and Bobvaso.

very beautiful day here with NO wind eitther but boy did it blow the last 3 days.

the house is full of dust and sand and I have deliberating ad nauseum and have decided to not clean up. nope. no sweeping or mopping today ... manana LOL

so nice meeting JOE and JOE yesterday ! We went to lunch at Martin's and the breaded fish was really tasty ! Thanks guys!

The Bob & Joe show resumed last week after a brief absence....they went north and just couldn't stay away! The pork roast is in the crock pot...nom nom nom

monoloco - 6-21-2013 at 01:38 PM

Here in Pescadero it's 71º with gusts to 10mph.

ncampion - 6-21-2013 at 02:07 PM

In Loreto, it's 88 with light wind from the South. RH is 57% - beautiful day!
This is at 3:00pm.

DavidE - 6-21-2013 at 04:25 PM

June can get warm there, but late July is when it starts to get snotty. Love images of tropical cities. When the shady side sidewalks are overflowing it conveys 10,000 words. La Paz tambien. By 0530 if you haven't found a parking spot beneath a tree you're screwed.

shari - 6-21-2013 at 04:27 PM

Humidity--78%

Blue skies all around

DavidE - 6-22-2013 at 11:34 AM

It came south.

With a million turbines and a few dozen 3megavolt lines the peninsula could power the entire USA. 2 cents per kWh and make a fortune. Yes I am being sarcastic.

Mula - 10-7-2013 at 04:51 AM

60 this morning in Lopez Mateos.

And yesterday when we were leaving San Nicolas on the Sea of Cortez between Loreto and Mulege the winds were pushing the ocean water into the town.

The locals were calling it the Isle de San Nicolas. Salt water was all the way up to the front of Alfredo Bastida's house and Kenny's guest house. Fortunately there is quite a dip there from the arroyo water's running through there, so the houses will be o.k., but the new road into the town area of San Nicolas - just built 3 days ago - from the arroyo is gone again.

75°...here and now. Very nice indeed.

click the season switch

EdZeranski - 10-8-2013 at 09:19 AM

Al,
On Sept 21st we were at our place in Borrego Springs and it seemed like someone threw the season switch from the day before. Bam! it went from 107 and a tad humid to 90 and dry, perfect swampcooler weather and for desert walking-hiking. Bonnie and I got back to Loreto/Colonia Zarragossa last Thursday in the afternoon and it seems like the same change happened. Some North wind on the weekend but nice yesterday and this morning. I have not annoyed the fish yet but have spent time looking at favorite beach access paths to see which survived the rains. There is some whoo-haw at Juncalito with beach use/access but we'll work with it.

Clear sky this morning after many overcast days. But at 6 Celsius (this is Vancouver Island) it calls for packing it in and go south sometime soon.

DENNIS - 10-8-2013 at 10:17 AM

Ahorita..........

64°
No wind........getting cloudy
Humidity 84%
Calling for rain mañana. I guess it coming down from the north. Probably won't be much, but everything helps.

DavidE - 10-8-2013 at 10:18 AM

If it ever reached 35C on Vancouver Island, the die-off would resemble the asteroid strike in Yucatan. Loved it on Hornby Island, July, 2PM, 15C, 70% humidity and the locals (you can distinguish the locals, they're the ones with the Gulag colored skin) were in short sleeved shirts. How do you tell the month on Vancouver Island? July, a boulder is covered in moss like a green bowling ball - January, you can't see the boulder at all. People up there name their giant slugs.

Leo - 10-8-2013 at 10:34 AM

That must have been another year, that July David, you're talking about. This summer was actually not bad. A heat spell from late June into early August with most days around 23-25 and some even hitting the 31 mark. But then we got the wettest September on record, 117 mm.
Short sleeved in cold temps, yeah that's all relative. Our postman keeps delivering mail in shorts even if we reach the near freezing point. This is to offset the effects that are common everywhere else in Canada in winter where temps of -25 or -40 are not uncommon.

Cypress - 10-8-2013 at 10:36 AM

ahhhh. Zihuatanejo in July...........

You get wetter out of the ocean than in it....

A short walk from Waldo's around the corner to the bank requires a canteen. And shade trees on the edge of La Comericiales (Mega) parking lot become occupied at 0630 until after sunset.

Seasonal paradise. But after May I don't like the hills surrounding the bay that absolutely chop off the southerly breezes.

DavidE - 3-13-2014 at 12:48 PM

All the difference in the world señor motoged!

Much like summer is felt in Bahia Concepcion versus Shell Beach Punta Chivato.

But down there in the summer, outside of cities summer thunderstorms can bring blessed relief - love where I live, a four hour dash up 14-D takes me to Zirahuen and Patzcuaro. From 95F with 80+% R/H to 75F and 50% R/H.

On the peninsula unless a person hikes into the mountains around the cape there is no summer escape. The Vizcaino peninsula, and Baja Blanca's neck of the woods has turned into a viable summer escape hatch to get a little relief.

On a strict budget? Bring a tent.
