This is an amazing and heartwarming story that began here in Loreto three years ago when Patrick McGorky, whose love of animals knows no bounds, rescued a little mule whose mama was killed on the highway by a truck while he was still nursing. Then two years ago, he also rescued (for cash) a beautiful pinto filly—born blind— from a desert rancher.

Tonight Patrick will be pulling into Loreto, his horse trailer empty, after successfully delivering Macho and Deli to their new home, Hartsong Ranch, in northern California. It was a long and arduous trip for these two little Baja equines, but thanks to Patrick McGorky, they now have lifelong safety, food, shelter and a future!

Congratulations Patrick. My hat goes off to you!

Wow. Check out the video of Deli's release into her new pasture after the long and arduous trip from Loreto in a horse trailer: quarantine in Guerrero Negro; quarantine near Mexicali for more than a week in triple digit temperatures; and a night in a horse hotel in Bakersfield before reaching her final destination in Northern California! That's one happy blind little filly!

Not a dry eye in the house!

Patrick has arrived safely back in Loreto.
