Need old map

Baja Bucko - 6-23-2013 at 12:06 PM

This is sort of Baja-related.

Anyone here know where I can find a MAP of the Magdalena-Imuris area of Sonora that is PRE-1900 but after 1830?

I have done some searching on the net but what I have located so far is a current map which does not show the old place I am searching for near the present-day community of San Ignacio.

Hay Neal, want to run down to south of Nogales a bit?

No thanks, I don't go to mainland Mexico anymore ---- my head prefers to stay on my body. That area is a drug route.

Teddi, have you looked at the antique map sites... I never pay much attention to Sonora, but lots of great old California (Baja) maps are in them.

Here are some links I have saved:

Found some, and see a Magdalena as well:

Sonora, 1862, enlarged:

Happy to be of assistance...

Now, how about starting YOUR Baja Muleback Adventures storybook...? Possible title: "Wild Rides on El Camino Real"???

Regarding a title...... how about "For a good Time, Call Teddi"????

THis 1823 map in the Library of Congress is perhaps the most detailed that you will find. It is high resolution, and you can edit it to get the detail you need.

what's been scanned/posted on intertubes is a very small sample of what exists.
