I still enjoy this book. I had fun watching Ben Hunter on his movie/talk show way back when too. He'd many times be shtfaced on live TV, wearing his bad hairpiece sideways and babbling like a madman.
Thems was the days.

Jack Smith and I built our homes about the same time, mine at Coyote Bay. It was really a kick reading his book, "God and Mr. Gomez" when it came out. I certainly could identify with it.

Did JW Black write a book, do you know? I heard he was quite the guy at El Coyote, another Erle Stanley Gardner Baja connection. Pompano (Roger) helped me contact him when I was searching for the lost mission ruins they found in 1966. Super ni ce guy on the phone. I think he was known as 'Black Jack'?

Woody, you'll enjoy The Baja Feeling. I read it the first time at my friends house at Bahia Los Angeles about 15 years ago. My wife adopted the title as her e-mail address. Have a copy at all my places. Read a chapter now and then...
