I know that there are many places in Mexico that are extremely dangerous....but looking at the US Travel Advisory for Baja it notes that the murder rate in Mexicali has climbed to 15.8/100,00...this is just slightly less than Chicago and much less that St. Louis, Detroit, New Orleans....I've been to all of these places safely. I think it is important to be careful....wherever you are.
Many people think I'm insane for spending so much time down here in Baja...until they visit.
