On August 16th, the San Ysidro border will open up a new section of north-bound vehicle crossing lanes, expanding the crossing to 25 double-stacked
lanes (that’s 50 booths!). The full series of lanes will be open only for that weekend. On Monday, August 19th, some of the lanes will close down
again for the construction of a new canopy that will be built over the lanes, providing green eco-power and added security. The U.S. General Services
Administration, who is in charge of the new border crossing, expects to have all of the lanes reopened again in time for the holiday season at the end
of the year.
Get over, get a quick whatever you want and cross back no sweat!! Errrrrrrrrrr............. then again, let`s just say "Quien sabe"!!

On Sunday night, only 12 lanes were open with 24 windows open. I was listening to 107.3FM, so I can only blame myself for making the crossing when I
did.

User reported 3 mins @ SY standard lanes, and official time is 10 mins for ready lanes. This is at 7AM Saturday, 8/17.
This is with 24 lanes open, double stacked!!

Just don't seem right
I will have to live through a 10 minute wait to believe it

I'm thinking that more and more people will use the border until it becomes a 2 hour wait again. There may be a few months of easy crossing though.
