I believe the gnarly one is a Cereus peruvianus var. montrose. They produce beautiful large blooms. We have one that we purchased from the cactus nursery at Puerto Los Cabos. They are fairly fast growing, ours has doubled in size in 2 years.

I see a Dudleya flower in the next to last photo(with the four Mammilarias) and a Dudleya plant at the base of the monstrose Cereus. It looks like D. gatesii from Central Baja----where did you get it? Is it local to the Lopez Mateos area?

I know !, I know !, can I guess? At least I know where they are......if not what they are. First one Jade plant?

Hey Mr. Mexitron . . . Normally we live in Loreto & Lopez. However, this summer we are staying in the Rosarito area.

Our digs host examples drawn from most areas of Baja.

The dudleyas are local to the Rosarito area, rescued from the hillsides of La Mission and the plateau behind GIANT PLASTIC JESUS. They've been on that little rock pile for about eight years.

Thanks Phil, will check those out next time through the area.
