I'm not sure if this guy has the bits vs. bytes confusion straight. I think Internet speed is usually measured in Mbps, megabits per second. He saying
megabytes per second. But anyway, this may be interesting to Nomads in Baja.

Generally speaking:
Data Transfer rates are usually described as bits per second with a small b such as 1 Gigabit (1Gbps).
Memory size (like a hard drive) are usually described as bytes with a cap. B such as 1 Gigabyte (GB).
