The Driver was alright - his legs were scraped up. Just be aware of your speed and conditions while driving in Baja.

Maybe he thought he was still on his Montana ranch?

That truck looks like it is older than me! Was time to buy a new truck anyhow,...
And what person with any wits drives to san Felipe in August? Knucklehead traveler, knucklehead driver!

This accident occurred in March.

The driver (friend and neighbor of mine) and companiions were on their way from their home in South Campos to Gonzaga Bay and had a blow out resulting in a wreck.

These photos were taken by the Driver and companions and posted on FaceBook by the Driver's wife (a Nomad) the day the accident happened.

Fortunately no major injuries. Now you know "the rest of the story".

My Dodge is newer, my Lance is older, and now I have a clear image of one of my worse nightmares. After only 40,000 Baja miles...there but for fortune...:no:

Ken.............this looks like it's a few miles south from the Valle de Los Gigantes, yes?

From the photos, it looks like the area between Okie Landing and Punta Bufeo (ie. 5-10 miles north of Gonzaga Bay).

Hello fellow Nomads
These pictures are from my husband accident which happen around 8 miles south of coming out of the mountain range on the flats going to Gonzaga. He was very lucky that him and his passengers weren't hurt. He was only going around 60mph when the blow out occurred on the front driver side tire. He tried his best to keep it on the road but alas the truck won the battle and went off the road and flew over a culvert and landed just below the bumper on the other side of the culvert which ripped off the front rear end and everything else. The truck is a 1992 Dodge all steel body and frame. We salvage some parts sold the motor which wasn't hurt. The Camper as you see was what can I say GONE.
All I can say is that there were Angels with him that day.
And insurance was only Liability.

Thanks Baja Warrior for defending my husband on this matter.
See you this season.

bp, yes see ya this season, we're down the usual big weeks/weekends and some in between. Thanks for posting storm/flash flood photos on FB of our area, it's like being there, except without the leaky roof!
