mojo_norte - 9-10-2013 at 03:23 PM

Is is possible / practical to hop a bus from Los Barriles to La Paz or Cabo for a day trip - shopping etc. ?

Last I knew, Aguila Bus runs between La Paz and Cabo, and stops at Los Barilles.

There are many busses passing Los Barriles, you can walk to the bus stop at the peninsular carretera where it looks like a bus stop-next to the table dance ladies bar. There you can choose a luxury Ford Transit, bus, or hitchike. I take the ecobajatour http://www.ecobajatours.com bus you can make a reservaton on line if you want, or even better just wait for a bus, they are very well equipped and pleasant. Or you can choose a luxory limosine or private car.

http://www.ecobajatours.com goes around the tip and stops at each city-very convenient and pleasant.

If you don't mind paying more, one can rent a cabbie to,show you around the big city or a car or a take a shuttle:

You can also post a request for a shared ride on the BPE.

Enjoy your sight-seeing!

Yes you can pay the driver on Aguila and Peninsular, though there is a bus station office at the bus station in LB where you can pay for he bus lines in advance for ecobajatour and aguila or peninsular and have a reservation and ticket.

ecobajatour only stops at its offices, such as the one there at the bus stop in LB they also sell sandwiches and drinks and have seats to wait and a bathroom. Once you take the bus once you will see each stop and be more familiar and maybe even get to know the driver and the riders, so you can waive him down in the future or better understand the route and schedule.

Very convenient, affordable and pleasant, AC, movies, music, wifi etc...

I prefer taking the bus over driving any day. Only thing to double check at the bus station is the schedules. Many times a couple of the mid day buses are cancelled for lack of passengers, at least on Aguliar.
