BajaNomad

It's Official ..

mojo_norte - 9-20-2013 at 06:24 PM

I'm so very tired of the the right wing troll posts and fun time follow ups on the subject Global Warming.

DaliDali - 9-20-2013 at 06:36 PM

It's so easy even a caveman can do it.

Follow your mouse cursor and place it directly over the "next" topic discussion button if it offends thee.

woody with a view - 9-20-2013 at 06:41 PM

or venture to the upper right corner. find the red X and click on it.....

motoged - 9-20-2013 at 06:46 PM

Woody....the "upper right" is the problem here

Why can't we create such a change from "the lower left"????

Just playin' ...

I am on a personal path of really trying to not hit the "send" button every time my knee jerks up and slaps my forehead ....folks look at the big bruise and wonder who won the fight :?:

Ateo - 9-20-2013 at 07:03 PM

Woody:

Where is this red X? What am I doing wrong?

motoged:

I can't tell you how many times I've typed a comment in the box only to say screw it and close my browser. "Who the hell cares about my opinion" is my new mantra.

wessongroup - 9-20-2013 at 07:42 PM

Figured since the fishing thread ended up in OT, why not weather from OT to the other side ...

I am a shameless and unapologetic liberal....but I hang out with a bunch of righties....nice guys, just not very thoughtful or
compassionate

But, it's all about "beliefs".....and aside from our general consensual reality that let's each of us get through the day without too many crises....we are making all this up (not the weather in front of us....just what we think about it)

I had a great week motorcycling Baja two years ago with a Nomad I had never met before we met in the parking lot at Ricardo's Rice and Beans in San Ignacio. I think we enjoyed each other's company as long as we didn't talk politics...as he warned me that I was inadequately armed for that combat  (correct perhaps :light:)

But how am I gonna fight with some SOB bigger than me that has a mean looking bald bullet head that looks like this (yeah....the one on the LEFT):

.... Who turns into a marshmallow around better company:

As he pointed out, the skirt I wear all the time is probably how I got busted up....but I ended up with the pussy   :

I hate labels, but since we are labeling, here goes

I am fiscally conservative and liberally social

Send me a hooker and some pot, but don't let the government control it.

monoloco - 9-20-2013 at 08:21 PM

I never thought that I'd see the day when I needed a flannel shirt in September in southern Baja, but I just had to put one on.

Think I'll go with Rita Mae Brown:

"She also doesn't give a damn about the Republican and Democratic
parties. The difference between the two parties, she says, "is the
difference between syphilis and gonorrhea. Neither one of them
has a very compelling program for America. They don't question our
whole economic base," she says, "and I'm not talking about being socialist or
anything like that. What we need to look at is whether our economy is safe for the
earth.""

She was also the partner of Fannie Flagg who, among other achievements wrote "Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe" a truly wonderful read.

Much of the wonderfulness of her book was lost when excised from the movie due to political and morally repressive issues so the book is the only way to truly get a handle on Flagg's unique perspectives.

I left a copy and there was one already there in the library at Campo Sirena last time. Check it out, one of the funniest books of substance I have ever read. (the other is "The River Why").

"All you have to do is get up and look at the mountains and look at the other animals to realize that your problems are mostly made up or exacerbated by humans."

"And I hope we never get so dependent on government, we don’t take care of one another. That’s what really terrifies me." Rita Mae Brown
