Fishing Report for Bahia Asuncion

As usual in October in Asuncion, the yellowtail bite is wide open and the fish are gaining weight daily. Lobster season opened this week and all the stinky bait in the traps attract more fish close to shore so the fishermen say!

Juan has been bringing in limits of nice size tails every day in the 20-40 lb range and even caught a little sierra...big calicos, grouper and sand bass as well. Juan says the dorado should show any day now as there are lots of flying fish which are the precursor to dorado.

Shore fishers and kayk fishers report lots of halibut along the beaches, corvina and yellowfin croaker as well.

The weather has been superb with air temps in the low 80's and water temps in the low 70's, not much swell or wind...perfect fishing weather indeed.

Our guest Ben took his girlfriend for her first time fishing(first time in Baja too) and she had noodle arms after reeling in so many tails! but loved it.

and they took advantage of lobster season and had Juan's sister Lupita cater a fresh lobster dinner to their casita....oh yeah!
