I still have 15 years to go

durrelllrobert - 10-13-2013 at 08:55 AM

How about you?
TELL...THE TRUTH AND
IT WILL ESTIMATE YOUR LIFE EXPECTANCY

Watch your age in the upper right corner!
Kinda fun to watch your age go up and down as you answer the questions.
Now this is interesting, give it a try....
How long will you live? This is a calculator that estimates your life expectancy.
It was developed by Northwestern Mutual Life. It's interesting that there are only 13 questions.
Yet, they can predict how long you're likely to live.

Thanks for that, it was fun... I got 31 years to go... not sure I want to, unless I can keep 4 wheeling and camping in Baja!

bajabuddha - 10-13-2013 at 09:07 AM

My doc just informed me i only have 3 months to live... i told him i couldn't possibly pay all my medical bills by then, so he gave me an extra year..........

Frank - 10-13-2013 at 09:10 AM

Ive got 41 years to go. I need to save more money.

55steve - 10-13-2013 at 09:11 AM

24 more years for me. Not bad since I'm 63 next month.

churro - 10-13-2013 at 09:13 AM

I will live to 74.... 26 more years

jimgrms - 10-13-2013 at 09:23 AM

Ten more years if i cut down on the Pacifico------ i am doomed !

J.P. - 10-13-2013 at 09:40 AM

That was interesting. How old did you say you are BOB, 26. :?:

cftlet - 10-13-2013 at 09:43 AM

I ve got 18 yrs left. Damn I should have taken better care of my body. :bounce:

Bajaboy - 10-13-2013 at 09:44 AM

tripledigitken - 10-13-2013 at 09:45 AM

Time to start adding to the bucket list.

bajajudy - 10-13-2013 at 09:49 AM

Yikes I may have to start smoking

wessongroup - 10-13-2013 at 09:55 AM

Dittos judy ... have way more than what I thought ... another 16 years WOW and I have taken up smoking

woody with a view - 10-13-2013 at 09:55 AM

78, ugh! i hope i can still do what i do now in 30 years!

rts551 - 10-13-2013 at 10:01 AM

Now that some of you think you may live until retirement, Have you worked hard enough to earn a decent retirement?

bacquito - 10-13-2013 at 10:07 AM

I've got 21 years left. I could add a year if I reduced my wine consumption but I do not know if I really want to live to 93!

Paulina - 10-13-2013 at 10:18 AM

The hardest part of that was answering the first question, trying to figure out how old I was in the first place. If I don't know how old I am on a daily basis, I may never know when I reach the ripe old age of 100, as that's how long it said I'm going to keep breathing. My poor children.

I'm no fool, no siree, I'm gonna live to be 103!

shari - 10-13-2013 at 10:20 AM

Good guess but my oldest great grandson just turned 16 and his mother my gran daughter just turned 34. My oldest daughter, that started it all, is 56 and I'm 76.

vandenberg - 10-13-2013 at 10:24 AM

Almost 78 now. Get 8 more years at my present speed and if I slow down on the booze they give me 9 additional years.:biggrin:

Barry A. - 10-13-2013 at 10:43 AM

75 now, and 14 more to go?!?!?!?!?. (Good grief, I hope not)

Being possibly dependent on others really does not appeal to me. :O

-----for now I am a happy-camper, tho.

BajaParrothead - 10-13-2013 at 10:53 AM

34 to go which is encouraging since I retire in 64 days!!

BajaLuna - 10-13-2013 at 11:05 AM

Congrats, Bajaparrothead on your upcoming retirement! Down to just a few more months, very cool!!!

BajaParrothead - 10-13-2013 at 11:16 AM

Thank you BajaLuna, looking forward to more time spent on the SOC.

BajaRat - 10-13-2013 at 11:17 AM

32 more.......... But retirement in BA could shorten that, I better move to San Roque ;)

bajacalifornian - 10-13-2013 at 11:47 AM

Wow! I'm on borrowed time . . .

DENNIS - 10-13-2013 at 12:58 PM

Catorce más.......maybe.

MMc - 10-13-2013 at 01:21 PM

I am past by 10 years:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:
It not how load you have, it's what you do with it. Really, I have about 25 more years but I need to cram 50 more into them:bounce::bounce::bounce:

vgabndo - 10-13-2013 at 02:13 PM

This thing gave me 19 more years. I can't think of any of my doctors who would agree, and I'm pretty damned sure I don't want to be present for what's coming in 2032.

woody with a view - 10-13-2013 at 02:33 PM

cmon Vgabndo, you've defied all forms of reality, deities and now doctors!:light::cool::P

Russ - 10-13-2013 at 02:51 PM

comitan - 10-13-2013 at 03:24 PM

Thanks Bob, it is an "heroic" image of the wind in my face. I was immediately reminded of Richard Burton as McPhisto.:lol:

All I get when I type in my data is a pop-up ad for a funeral parlor.

Bajahowodd - 10-13-2013 at 04:08 PM

The quiz does not appear to deal with sufficient lifestyle issues to be that accurate. Consider financial status. Consider clinical depression, for instance. People who are clinically depressed would likely say that they don't wish to live that long. Just sayin'.

And no, That's not me.

If the insurance industry is paying for this, I am guessing it is pretty accurate statistically-----they are very careful where they spend their money. For insurance purposes, it actually is probably pretty accurate.

Just because somebody would say, "-----I don't wish to live that long-----" you believe is evidence that they are "clinically depressed"??? That is speculation, or at least opinion------I don't believe it is backed up by strong consistant evidence, is it?. I made a similar remark above, but I have never felt particularily "depressed". One would think you would recognize being "depressed"?!?!?!?!. I just would not want to live if I was a burden to others, and did not feel useful-------know what I mean??? Now THAT would be depressing. What would be the point-----------------??

elgatoloco - 10-13-2013 at 06:47 PM

36 more for me. 91. Played golf last week with my 89 year old father. He can still hit em. :saint:

toneart - 10-13-2013 at 09:08 PM

Mine says 99 years. I believe it because my lifestyle and genes have always supported excellent health. My mother lived to 90 and she was sedentary, an incessant reader, a smoker and a trippy, tipsy, tippler. I am now 76. (Just had my Libra birthday Oct. 1).

However....:o I was diagnosed 3 1/2 years ago with a form of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. It is usually aggressive but I have never experienced any symptoms. I attribute that to my disciplined lifestyle. A CT Scan did reveal cancerous tumors on all the Lymph nodes from the Thorax to the Groin, so I had 3 out of the 6 recommended treatments a year ago summer. The tumors completely disappeared after the very first treatment and haven't returned.

In the mean time, I take it one day at a time. Still play jazz, travel, ski, run with my dog, Paco, in the mountains and the beaches, volunteer with Hospice, do the New York Times Crosswords with a pen, work dialog into short fiction from characters I read in Off Topic, confuse and confound extreme right wingers with facts and logic. :P:bounce: So...I'm not going anywhere any time soon. I feel great!

There was a disclaimer at the end of the test that said the results may not be accurate if one has a chronic disease. But they could be, so I do buy green bananas!

I will not declare that I will live 'till 99 because I don't want to put a limit on it. :light::light::lol:

.....til when?????

You nailed that one! The little chart gave until 93 which is pretty much in line with my family. Retired a year and half ago after doing communication systems for almost 48 years and went right into swapping out wax rings in rental house toilets. Also mission critical though. Going back as a consultant, comms not toilets, for a year then its really quits. Gotta make the next 26 or so years count, and Baja is a big part.

Not to mention at Casa Cheep in Pescadero. Brady! Papi! Salty!

BTW...I've got 24 years left. Maybe more if the Pats and Sox keep doing this stuff.

Skipjack Joe - 10-14-2013 at 08:13 AM

There should be a choice:

"Retired in Baja"

Will that increase or decrease your life expectancy?

watizname - 10-14-2013 at 08:50 AM

20 more. Really?? I thought I used up a lot more "credit" when I was a young man, but I'll take the 20.

Marc - 10-14-2013 at 07:02 PM

Another 26 years makes it 98. Good thing I married a nurse. She's 23 years younger than me.:yes:
