I just came from the tax office to see if I could pay my property taxes early and this is what they told me.
1: The soonest you could pay your property taxes will be 18 November.
2: If you pay between 18 November and 30 November you get a 35% discount.
3: If you pay during the month of December you receive a 30% discount.
Guess where I will be November 18th?
I have been told that every area is different so this is for Loreto.
FYI, around 80 degrees, no clouds but windy.

We have more than 1 property and the total savings actually will be around $125-$150.

Hey guys, I have some lots in Loreto that I bought from Fonatur. Anybody know what the market is like for lots in Loreto?
I bought my lots in 2002. There has been some construction of some nice homes over the past 13 years, but not many. Then, a few years ago, Fonatur
opened up a bunch more lots for sale and virtually no one has built on any of those lots.
There is a ton of property for sale in Loreto, all of it much over priced, especially given the abundance (supply) of property available. Somebody
has to teach those people about the economics of "supply and demand".
Anything going on in the real estate market there, notwithstanding Slim Helu's acquisition?

Any chance those lots you bought were in Nopolo? If not, what is the area they are located in Loreto?

My lots are not in Nopolo, but are about two blocks from hwy 1 in Loreto, about 3 blocks north of the Hacienda hotel, about 1/3 of a mile inland from
the Mission. Near calle Mayorga.
There are residential lots with city services all over the place in Loreto; hundreds of vacant unimproved residential lots. All for sale at about
$1,000 pesos per square meter. That equates to about $76 USD per square meter.
In La Paz, you can find tons of properties (residential lots) close to the water, simultaneously close to the airport, close to the malecon and the
city center, heck, close to Walmart, Home Depot, Soriana, Liverpool, Sam's Club, Cinepolis, a new Casino, etc. for about $25 per square foot...with
services.
Oh yeah, prices for real estate in Loreto make a lot of sense...if you are insane.
