I am trying to travel lighter for my photography so I have purchased a Sony NEX 7 and I am carrying my Ipad 3 to do editing.

The above link has some great applications for photographers on the go

How would you get the photos from the camera to the iPad for editing while traveling :?:

Thank you for sharing this it was informative to me. I will tell you how much I know or dont-my daughter works for a resort in Cabo as the photographer and I asked if she had her own "dark room" she said dad we dont use dark rooms everything is digital now. So you can see why I value your posting-thank you.

I too have gone to the Nex-7 for my travel camera. It is 1/5th the size and weight of my dslr bag.

I don't edit on the road for many reasons. I'm happy if I can secure the images by downloading into a very light laptop or portable hard drive.

I used to process on a laptop, but since getting a 24" monitor, no more. A tablet would not be an option for processing photos for me.

It would be an option, I suppose, if I took jpegs right out of the camera.

Thanks for the link to the article. It is something to think about. I just wish they would stop changing everything so fast --- I can't keep up.

Especially for hiking, my neck loves my Nex 6.

Another file transfer option...

This also looks interesting for sharing files between multiple devices:

I don't see how that would work with a camera unless it had a USB port, or had wifi built in, which would make it a redundant device. The eyefi cards allow you to stream from any camera that takes an SD card to any phone, tablet, or computer that has wifi capabilities.
