He is probably giving check rides to co-pilot applicants

Skipjack Joe - 11-12-2013 at 12:11 PM

Actually, I sent him a U2U a week ago asking the very same thing. He assured me that he is doing fine up north with close friends and family.

tripledigitken - 11-12-2013 at 12:28 PM

Igor,

Thanks for that update.

Loretana - 11-12-2013 at 12:39 PM

That has an ominous sound to it. Is he alright?

LancairDriver - 11-12-2013 at 01:10 PM

Pompano has been making the annual migration between Baja and up north for what....40years? His lifestyle has been the envy of many who have enjoyed his sharing his many Baja observations, great photos, and experiences through this forum and are missed. I look forward to his return.

I Also Miss Pompano

Gypsy Jan - 11-12-2013 at 01:16 PM

He may have wanted to take a break from the scrutiny.

Skipjack Joe - 11-12-2013 at 01:16 PM

I believe he's doing well. I believe the intent was to say that all was well. I concluded that his interests in life at this time just lay north of us.

I did intend to say that pictures of copilot were really not his major contribution to this website, but that his travelogues were of the highest quality and are greatly missed. But that's just my opinion.

Cypress - 11-12-2013 at 01:24 PM

I expect Pompano is doing well. He wouldn't have it any other way.;D

He's up there in your neck of the woods, isn't he, Bobby? Grab a box of beer and go find out what's going on.......tell him to shape up and report. He has responsibilities here. :light:

You are correct. How silly of me. I did enjoy his adventures and photos and look forward to many more of them.

Blair - 11-12-2013 at 06:58 PM

Funny story on him. I answered an add he had on craigslist for two cycle oil. I met him to pick it up and we started talking about baja. I asked him if he had ever heard of bajanomads. He got a kick out of that. I enjoyed our brief meeting. Great guy.

BajaBlanca - 11-12-2013 at 07:25 PM

I bet he laughed a Lot at that question! He is missed .... His reports will go down as some of the best. Ever.

I agree Skipjack. His stories, photos and sense of humor are the best. Some of the co-pilot stuff is funny too, but I could never get beyond how humiliating it must have been for those ladies.
Hmmm.... maybe that's why he went through so many of them?
:dudette:

mulegemichael - 11-12-2013 at 07:49 PM

yeah, paula, that might be why he went through "so many of them"...hmmmm.....anyway, the "word"on roger is that he has sold his place in coyote and now has no "ties" here, so no motivation to come back...except the memories....he has a ton of "stuff" that all us nomads can relate too...we just need to convince him to return to his real "roots"....not that stinkin" north dakota crap...or south dakota...or both!!....give us a lil' glimmer, rog...come on!!!....m.

BajaRat - 11-12-2013 at 08:11 PM

Thanks for the surf pole Roger, I love It.
Come back down and visit............ we'll keep it on the DL

Cypress - 11-13-2013 at 03:22 AM

DENNIS, I'm back on the bayou down in MS. Not likely to return to those north ID mountains.:D

LancairDriver - 11-13-2013 at 08:14 AM

I can't say that any of the ladies that were in Rogers posts looked the least bit "humiliated". In fact they seemed to be happy and enjoying themselves. Attractive women aren't strangers to admiring looks and learn to live with their natural assets sans humiliation. The world would be a pretty drab place without them.

Glad to see you haven't lost your touch, Roger. I had forgotten that you liked to add dialog to your pictures.

It's getting pretty cold up there. Perhaps it's time to fly south for the winter.

Hola Igor.

Cold? Brrr....Indeed it is!

(couldn't resist adding this frozen oldy..If you're from ND, you've seen this more than once!)

I'm needing more goose down every night. Will be flapping my wings south soon, I expect, but first I need to collect a really fat Thanksgiving turkey and the same in a Christmas goose. In my old-fashioned (and perhaps unfashionable) way.

Hey, Up Here, it's hunting season in full swing....so maybe I'll revive my old Hunting thread?...or is that still too politically incorrecto on BajaNomad?

At any rate, it's nice to feel alive again and back to posting on Nomads.
Trying hard not to give any of them ulcers....
