So... how's the (long term) weather, and fishing, and...

We don't have what you need. We don't have what your climate guy needs. In this instance you are wrong about "The more information collected, the better he and his colleagues can understand yada yada yada..."

Those who live here can only tell you local patterns. Worse info would come from now and then visitors who just get snapshots of the weather when and where they are here. Since your guy studies fisheries he must know this peninsula is like a long narrow island almost entirely surrounded by oceans or seas. They make the weather, not the land (in the broadest terms of course) so you are asking locals what transient weather cells they've encountered over short periods (those stats are in the book) and you're asking them to guess how they were before and what they will be in the future and when it comes to water to guess how agriculture and settlement population shifts will occur and what impact that will make.

You are looking in the wrong directory. Probably better to go deep down the weather archives and draw conclusions from fact.

Not my usual thinking but I believe this time you'll get TMI, too much information and it will be like the weather itself, scattered with a chance of errors.
