Change of Ownership of Website(Not happening)

I understand what you are saying as some web sites about communities appear to be something different, but are really about self-promotion, and selling products and land. I doubt that will happen to our ex-website. The only self-promotion we ever did was when we advertised our house for sale. We tried to keep it informative without promoting any business over another business.

Our descriptions were quite dry and did not include superlatives. Every restaurant, store and other business wanted to be listed as wonderful and the best, and that we did not do. Our goal was to not promote one over another.

It is really up to the new owners as to what they are going to do, when they will start making changes, and if they will announce anything. I will say the new owners are well respected and honest people who are NOT real estate promoters.

It may take a while for their changes to happen. After all, it is Baja.

There is a massive conspiracy in the works.

Give them some time to see how it all works. Who knows at this point in time, they may decide they don't want to do it and the site may die. It is a possibility.

Good idea, except that we need four drums (or is that eight?) because only one wears out too fast. But I would be happy to add a Tushy Grande; sorta like a kettle drum. My drum ensemble is sure a lot better that staying home alone sulking and and slapping one's own knee.

Woody gets it! We will have to take the party around a bonfire at his secret surfing beach. Invitees only...and we can tell him some secrets in exchange. Talking drums are good at keeping secrets too! No photos for this one, Diana. What happens at the beach stays at the beach.

i'll leave empty TKT cans along the side of the road, at a predetermined time and locale. kinda like bread crumbs to follow, Baja style! if you wanna be at the party you can't be late cuz everyone knows an aluminum can doesn't last long by the side of the road!

This is true -- one complained continuously which we did not need. One was sure we were going to charge them money. One was sure we were connected with someone with whom they did not want to be connected. A couple only opened at night and we were seldom out at night. Some have changed and new ones have popped up and the site was not updated. So, it was never 100% inclusive and because it is out of date, we have put it to sleep for now. If we find the right person who wants to take it over, we will give it to them.

Just one last bump --- and it will be the last bump just to see if anyone is interested in the website or domain names. We had really hoped that the transfer would work out, but it was not to be.

We will be back to visit BA and friends, but not enough to keep things current; things change too fast.

Sooo, if there is no interest, the site will continue to be asleep and this thread shall be declared terminal.
