Driving South into town, 2nd block from Monument (where road splits), then right 3 blocks.
Haven't stayed there but it's recommended.Mulegena - 11-25-2013 at 07:59 PM
Palapa 206
A most quiet, private motel just south of town on the west side of the highway. Check in and drive into your garage and close the door behind you. The
rooms are elegant and new. $500pesos about a year ago. RV parking, too, and lots of room to park big rigs. No problem with dogs who can sleep out if
you want as you're in an enclosed carport. Free wifi.
Hotel d'Lara: There's another new motel/restaurant just west of Mx.1 on the road leading to Puerto San Carlos, south side of road. New, clean,
relatively quiet rooms. We had our dogs with us, no worries. Limited parking in front of room; in fact we were completely blocked in as the rooms
filled up. No room whatsoever for large rigs. $500 without breakfast; $650 with breakfast for two, a great value as the food is good. No wifi, I
think.
Edited to say thank you to Oladulce for remembering the name of the hotel, and WillyAirstream for the word on wifi at Palapa 206.

The place on the road to San Carlos is Hotel d' Lara and their restaurant is La Botana. Have had dinner at the restaurant a few times and it's quite
good. The rooms look clean and it sounds like a good hotel option if you have pets as Mulegena says.
I've never seen pets at the Oasis except the resident chihuahua. But the Oasis is always our go-to place for overnight. Simple, immaculate and you
can't beat $400 p/night.willyAirstream - 11-26-2013 at 08:02 AM
Palapa 206, or 1006, 2km south of town on the right. As mulegena said, a secure, clean place. It does have free wifi. Tell them I said hola.bajagrouper - 11-26-2013 at 09:56 AM
Agree with the Oasis, nice and quite being a few blocks from the highway.....DavidE - 11-26-2013 at 11:07 AM
Nice info. Thanks.RnR - 11-26-2013 at 01:26 PM
Oasis is very nice and a good choice. However, the entryway passes under the second story to reach the parking area. Clearance is only about 7 1/2
ft. A high profile vehicle will not fit.
Posada del Ryal - about one block north of the Oasis. Also very nice. Open entryway to a large interior parking lot. Office is attended 24/7.
Both have signs posted at the corners from Mex 1. Two and three blocks south of the road to San Carlos with the statues in the intersection.
