Mulege high speed reliable internet?

drwsur - 12-2-2013 at 04:16 PM

Hello, Anyone care to venture an answer or opinion on connectivity reliability and speed of Mulege internet? I know fiber runs thru but is it great!? I have a business and absolutely need very VERY good service. Or, how about available wireless as an option which meets top standards?

Hola, I liven Mulege for over 10 yrs. I have no idea what you require, however my internet comes trough "Infinitum" that is provided by TelMex, and works very well for me and the internet cafes that abound in Mulege.

I don't know where you are landing in Mulege.. But, we are in the Orchard and have the Telmex service.. We stream television and have had up to 4 computers running at the same time with no problems...
They have, I think, 4 different services... 1 meg, 2 meg, 5 meg, and 10 meg availaible.. We currently have the basic plan for about $370 peso per month to do the above.. our speed test download usually is in the 1.9 meg speed..
I would think you would have no problem.. so far for about 4 years now we are very satisfied with the service... Of course we are in Mexico and little quirks can and will happen at times.. Feel free to ask if you need anything else...

The fiber optic line runs past Mulege without stopping. The nearest tap is in La Paz.

The link is via microwave. It is not comparable to US DSL speed IMO

You may be correct but we experience better internet in Mulege that we get in the states with Centurylink... So I would not poo -poo it unless I was having problems with it.. There may be those in Mulege that don't like it but we are not in that group.
Several of us in this area stream live tv through the internet, can talk on a majicjack phone and surf the internet at the same time with no noticeable degradation.. Just sayin......

Mulege DSL runs about 3-5 meg DL, 1.5 upload. Up 95% of the time. Electrical power outages are occurring less and less, but take that into account.

I am on the middle speed tariff at 328.44 pesos per month and an iStat printout is attached.
