Expendio de Pemex Petroleo (Kerosene) ?

Has anyone checked out the availability of kerosene in Baja California Sur?

Years ago the only "local" source was through Pemex's Expendio. There's one in Sta Rosalia, but have no idea if they have it nor do I have a telephone number for the expendio.

A fellow Nomad's experience would be invaluable. Yes, I would like to purchase a drum of petroleo.

Dave,
What would you use it for, besides running a space heater??

Exactly that. A Ker-O-Sun to be exact. I'm tired of being insulated by 1/2" plywood. Pretty sure it has an R value of say, R - 0.00003

It seems like sometimes the house gets in a race to cool down faster than the outside. Sadly my Michoacanero blood is thinner than the plywood.

I used a Ker-O-Sun when I lived in the Sierra Nevada mountains. It's fuel use was one-fifth that of LPG. A 10,000 BTU would heat the whole house.

They are very efficient and cheap to run.
Very familiar with those. Very common in Holland when I was a youngster.
They produce tons of humidity and indoor plants love them as I remember.

You might want to check the kerosene in Baja. I have a heater the same brand was about to buy some kerosene in town and was warned the kerosene in Baja is #2. Not number 1. It will smoke like crazy. Not sure if there is a way to tell the difference without burning it but I don't want to take the chance I'll bring down my 5 gallons
