I'm heading down and thinking of checking out Parque Constitucion? Any favorite things to see?
Osprey - 12-18-2013 at 10:57 AM
Ateo, sorry, I only know Constitucion from pass thrus.
However I find your signature statement veery interesting: my thought on the subject would be this "If we could have been there at the start, could
report on what happened on planet Earth -- the whole how and why of it, from the first microbe, the word ORDINARY and it's concept would be a non
sequitur, today and forever.

Thanks Osprey and willardguy. Guess I'll be exploring....
And yes, Osprey, I kind of agree with none of us being ordinary.
The first two sentences of the quote are my favorites.

See posts with photos from BAJACAT at Laguna Hanson... beautiful lake, boulders, pine trees. I have been to some of the quartz (gold) mines north of
Hanson and the Tajo Canyon viewpoint is up there, see photos by 'jide': http://vivabaja.com/jide

I would like to see more of this area again. I went through there 1 month ago.
"Little Lake Tahoe"

That's how I think of Laguna Hansen: lovely little version of Lake Tahoe when there's been enough rain to gill the basin.
If you do go up there, beware of incoming storms. You can get a lot of snow very quickly up there.
We used to go to visit a family at an old Homestead Ranch north of the lake, and hike from their property to the edge of the escarpment, looking down
into Canyon Guadalupe. It's been many years and I would likely never find it again.
It's a beautiful area, fun to explore with proper vehicle and precautions. Bring a good map.
Have fun!
