Time out, por favor!

Have you ever been guilty of looking at others your own age and thinking, "Surely I can't look that old!"

My name is Alice, and I was sitting in the waiting room for my first appointment with a new dentist.

I noticed his DDS diploma on the wall, which bore his full name.

Suddenly, I remembered a tall, handsome, dark-haired boy with the same name had been in my high school class, some 40-odd years ago.

Could he be the same guy that I had a secret crush on, way back then?

Upon seeing him, however, I quickly discarded any such thought.

This balding, gray-haired man with the deeply lined face was WAY too old to have been my classmate.

After he examined my teeth, I asked him if he had attended Morgan Park High School.

"Yes...Yes, I did. I'm a Mustang", he gleamed with pride. "
when did you graduate?" I asked. He answered, "In 1975. Why do you ask?"

"You were in my class!", I exclaimed.

He looked at me closely.

Then, that ugly, old, bald, wrinkled-faced, fat-burroed, gray-haired, decrepit son-of-a-b-tch asked,.

"What did you teach???"

Why is it the photo is so much worse then looking in the mirror?

I look into the mirror and see my father.:no::no:

BajaBlanca - 12-18-2013 at 09:56 PM

It is so true! Looking at a photo is not so fun any more. But I have learned to just smile and know that I sure looked different once.

Skipjack Joe - 12-18-2013 at 11:57 PM

In my younger days we used to joke around with -

"You is uglier than sin"

The great thing about aging is that it doesn't happen suddenly. It gives you time to adjust.

Cypress - 12-19-2013 at 03:56 AM

Yep! All my old classmates have grown old and grey.

bledito - 12-19-2013 at 06:25 PM

no grey yet well not too much, a few happy wrinkles, and the eye twinkle. middle age ? when does that end?

Pompano - 12-19-2013 at 06:43 PM

Sent from my hospital bed....

I was walking across the street an hour ago with my camera.... just had time to take this shot before it was lights out!

DavidT - 12-19-2013 at 06:57 PM

Someone handed me a picture and said, "This is a picture of me when I was younger." Every picture of you is when you were younger.
"Here's a picture of me when I'm older." Where'd you get that camera man?

Great thread. I think we should each post the most unflattering current picture we can find of ourselves.

My father is precisely who looks back at me also...

Oh, that is just too funny and too real.

OK, Igor, I will go first. Here is a picture of me two days ago walking around the petroglyphs in Chidago Canyon. I am in the rocks, a bit behind and to the left of Tommy Dog.

That is as close as I like to be to a camera.

Two can play at that game, Diane.

Get out the magnifying glass...it's bit scary.

"Mirror, mirror...on the wall. Who the hell is that??!!"

Justbozo - 12-20-2013 at 08:34 PM

I stole this from Bill Cosby, but I love it.

When I was young, I was hard, lean and mean.
Now after my shower I bend over to dry my feet and a quart of water runs out of my belly button!:tumble:

Bajatripper - 12-23-2013 at 02:23 PM

Too funny! As a member of the HS class of '74, I can relate.

I've never met a camera that survived my picture

wetto - 12-26-2013 at 10:32 AM
