Christmas Mileage to Baja?

bajadock - 12-20-2013 at 09:59 AM

How many miles are you traveling to get to Baja for Christmas/New Year holiday?

It was only 43F at 6AM this morning south of Ensenada. I'm flying to Florida for a quick warmup, then back to Ensenada. Will rack approximately 2,600 miles from FL back to 'Nada town.

Hope yours is easy and without hassles.

A fun photo Bajadock!

I did a pre holiday 2 hour flight each way, and can't wait to go back.

Merry Christmas!!

LOL! Perfect photo today!
Roughly one week to departure. Driving Vancouver to Mulege via Flagstaff, AZ for more solar-num-nums, 2645 miles / 4287km (meh).

Vancouver just got 3" of snow last night. CAN NOT WAIT!!!

This was the 'first leg' of the winter trip to Mulege. About 850 miles down to Winnipeg, and over to Lake of the Woods, NW Minn.

After that a rather long haul down south. Mapquest says the whole road trip is a bit over 3700 miles if I traveled their recommended highways ...

.... but I never do that. ;) I need to see the elephant and hear the fat lady sing.

Note: 3 more times, and I qualify for a Road Warrior badge.

Igualmente, Roberto. Pompano, that is an amazing trip. Cheers to your travels.

The original snowman photo had "Florida" printed on his cardboard sign. I scribbled Baja, because I have some friends invading in January.

41F wind chill this morning recorded by my neighbor's weather station:

That isn't freezing, but it isn't friendly to anything not wrapped in a couple of layers this morning.

Did spot some blue fin tuna being harvested in our neighborhood's b.f.t. farm. Those fishies are likely headed to Japan in time for New Year celebrations.

after our last santa gig in the square today we'll pack our bags and head north the day after christmas, hopefully arriving at our northern home in sequim, washington 5 days later....that's ALMOST as far as vancouver but not quite....i made the round trip last year 5 times in our 4runner.

Casey67 - 12-22-2013 at 05:37 PM

5 times in one year, Jeebus!! Going back up north every 2 or 3 years is more than enough for me.

Best wishes for your journey north, the timing sounds like we may pass each other in Oregon.

it just dawned on me that the mileage to Baja at Christmas time is exactly the same as it is at Easter time. It just can't remember how far that is.
