Construction issues starting Santo Tomas Winery. Several off and on road/dirt slow and go.
San Quintin, back road from Desert Inn, repaving.
Stopped once for military. Top of hill before going into El Rosario.
El Rosario Pemex, hectic, everyone with Santa Hats. So glad I am this far.
Staying the night at Sinahi in El Rosario. (Caravan choice) I am rooming it with two dogs for $250. pesos. Friends are camping it for $150. pesos.
Margaritas and roasted chicken from San Quintin stop. All is well.
All is well. :-)

Glad you are here for the holidays, DaGreen.
Enjoy your time here in the magical land.
Keep us posted.Whale-ista - 12-21-2013 at 10:49 PM
Is that the hotel on your left while heading south, past the curve, with the "RV camping lot" up on the top level parking area?
Or maybe thats the next hotel south...Turista?
We stopped at one of those last March, but I didn't know they allowed dogs in the rooms. My friends slept inside, I slept in my camper w/dog. I think
it was $250 pesos.
I may need a place that accepts dogs, so good Information for future travels.
Thank you.DaGreen - 12-22-2013 at 06:43 AM

Bob, I may forget my own name someday, but great Baja memories, like your photo, are FOREVER!DaGreen - 12-24-2013 at 08:43 AM
HAHAHAH Bob H, I have the same picture of my chocolate lab.
Day 2, Sunday Dec 22nd
El Rosario to San Ignacio
Rough road to Catavina.
Military Checkpoint after the curvy stretch of road before Jesus Maria
San Ignacio
I treated myself to the Springs. Lovely hosts, Tery and Gary. Dogs loved the dip in the springs. I didn’t take full advantage of this place, a must
stop on the way home.
Friends stayed at Don Chon’s campground next door for $8 a night
Viscaino turnoff, lots of construction
Day 3, Monday Dec 23rd
San Ignacio to La Ventana
Lots of livestock on the road. Herds of goats and cows just before the pass to Santa Rosalia.
Military Checkpoint just before Loreto
South of Loreto, patches in the road, no major construction
Ciudad nothing major. One on and off the road at the bridge
Road from La Paz to La Ventana is the worst. Lots of potholes and rough road past the Yonkes till the Cohetes stand. Good road till the other side
of the hill, lots of potholes, DEEP ones.
Excellent trip down. Great caravan group. Thanks to all of you at Baja Nomads for the great advice.Bob H - 12-24-2013 at 11:06 AM
