Thinking about staying at this free camping beach. How is it? Is there a store in Ligui.David K - 1-2-2014 at 10:59 PM
Small village there with limited supplies and also check at Ensenada Blanca, just turn right at the sign pointing left for Playa Ligui, as you head
towards the beach from Hwy. 1. Nomad Ligui or others may be able to help more with what can be bought in those two villages.

Thanks for the help David. You seem to love that Tacoma. I have been beating up my Tacoma on logging roads for the last 6 years for work. Great
little truck!ligui - 1-3-2014 at 06:57 AM
Great little market on hwy 1 where you turn off to ligui . Juan the owner has stocked the place very well . From beer to ice , frozen meats , fresh
veggie come on tuesdays and fridays , fishing lures , bread , etc.
You can also drive up Tripui 5 miles up the road and shop at their little store .
Also Juan has opened a small store in ensenada blanca

I was in the store at the turn off from Mex 1 - into Ligui the other day and was really impressed with how much the place has improved.
Used to avoid it, but not anymore. And lots of good stuff!Ribbonslinger - 1-3-2014 at 08:07 AM
I have a truck and camper. I read that you are not allowed to park next to the palapas on the beach. Is this the case?
Beautiful place We will be stopping there for sure. Thanks for the info Ligui.

See the ranch house symbol south of Puerto Escondido and before the highway climbs up the mountain?
Here is the coast from Loreto to Ensenada Blanac from the 2003 Baja Almanac:
See 'Ligui' on Hwy. 1, and 'Ens. Blanca' on the bay just south, and the mission (San Juan Bautista Ligüí) shown northwest of where it actually was (at
the road to Ensenada Blanca, where it curves south at the arroyo crossing). The arroyo meets the sea at Playa Ligui.

I was there a few years ago and there was no problem parking and camping next to the palapas. The only problem was the steady stream of traffic
driving in front of us on the beach to the end where the locals could climb up on the rocks and get cell service from Loreto. Kinda funny watching
them stand there for a few minutes and then drive back out.Ribbonslinger - 1-3-2014 at 05:56 PM
Thanks for the offer Ligui. I read on another post your place is at Ensenada Blanca.
We are going on a 3 month trip. I think we should be at that point by around mid Feb..
We will be the couple with the big German Shepard.805gregg - 1-3-2014 at 07:28 PM

That is a cute little truckDavid K - 1-4-2014 at 12:40 AM
It's my SUT, big enough to carry 4 adults in comfort with a 5 ft. cargo bed and still short enough to have some serious off roading adventures... and
because it is a Toyota with A-TRAC, no fear of mechanical breakdown or getting stuck.
Oh, what a feeling! Thank you Neal Johns and other Tacoma owning Amigos
for advising to get my first Tacoma over the Ranger I was shopping for, back in 2000!Bob H - 1-4-2014 at 12:49 AM
Ohhhh, South of Loreto!
