additional beheading rumors required

huesos - 1-4-2014 at 04:43 PM

There seem to be more and more gringos willing to cross for waves. Although the vast majority are still complete weenies, it is imperative to stop this trend before it spreads. I think we need some fresh terrifying media to get things going.

MMc - 1-4-2014 at 04:49 PM

I totally agree! surfer Killers between Xmas and New Years a couple of times way to many folks out there.

Ateo - 1-4-2014 at 04:51 PM

I saw tons of surfers heading south over the holidays. More than ever. There were 20 vehicles and about 80 people at one of the spots I went by.

We need to hype the toll road closure and make everyone question road safety. ;);););)

Volunteers???

bajaguy - 1-4-2014 at 04:53 PM

I have a very dull ax if you would like to volunteer your neck.....

true dat....the spot that shall remain un named was stupid crowded over the holidays...let the beheading begin!

chuckie - 1-4-2014 at 04:57 PM

There were several heads in the road at location ( )..along with wrecked boards...........

Ateo - 1-4-2014 at 05:01 PM

Well from what I'm hearing there are roaming bands of banditos specifically targeting surfers south of Ensenada. They came up to my campsite in the middle of the night and only let me live because I'm married to a Mexican citizen. Usually, that's just another reason to terminate my gringo arse. =)

Neal Johns - 1-4-2014 at 05:59 PM

I saw a band of crazed natives taking the heads and boards as trophies and then pealing the fiberglass off the boards and placing the heads into depressions in the foam and cooking them over burning gringo SUVs before eating both. We should all stay home until Custer pacifies Baja.

just keep in mind that names and foto spreads on the interweb only hasten the pain. at a minimun, leave out the names, crop your fotos and leave only footprints.

granted, it's prolly too late to matter in the digital age but if you enjoy some of the spots that shant be named then give freely to WiLDCOAST. http://www.wildcoast.net/programs/1-valle-de-los-cirios-paci...

chuckie - 1-4-2014 at 06:24 PM

What Neal said....

Woody--I don't understand you worry about " secret spots " and sell t shirts promoting Baja surfing while telling folks not to go there

woody with a view - 1-4-2014 at 09:31 PM

yeah, funny ain't it?

why not buy some shirts and add your $ to our annual donation to WiLDCOAST? you can be part of the problem or part of the solution....

2 more designs are in the works as i type. keep the faith!

I'm not so worried about getting my head cut off, it's all the guys going around dissolving people in barrels of acid that scare the crap out of me.

bajaguy - 1-4-2014 at 09:56 PM

Off with 'is head!!!

Just borrow a few of the "radiation heading this way" posts...

Whale-ista - 1-4-2014 at 10:20 PM

there are a bunch of those floating around here, uh, no pun intended.

Maybe add that recent earthquakes in Baja could be precursors to "the big one", leading to possible tsunamis, and more radioactive waste washing in from ***ishima...

It's worth a shot.

dtbushpilot - 1-4-2014 at 11:04 PM

Saw several decapitated bodies hanging from an overpass in Rosarito, not sure of their nationality but they were all wearing board shorts :lol:

bajachris - 1-5-2014 at 08:42 AM

Surf was the most crowded I have seen and it was complete crap. Don't come down. Roads are dangerous, surf sucks, El Norte winds every single night.

BajaBlanca - 1-5-2014 at 11:43 AM

very interesting thread because we also commented on our way south just over a week ago, on how many cars LOADED with surfboards were headed south. More than I have seen in a long time.

Have you heard about the awesome surf beach at Playa Saldamando? The road's a little rough but the waves are killer. No need to go further!

PERFECT SECRET SPOT!

Looks like the only way in now is from the South. Luckily still no one surfs the beach breaks. I can attest to that. The only person you will see in the water is me and I'm scared sh*tless.

Chupacabra - 1-6-2014 at 02:30 PM

If you surf any of the name brand spots between Christmas and New Years, it's best to expect company and have the appropriate attitude.

Most spots in Baja will be pretty much empty from now until spring break, the more remote spots may go unsurfed for weeks at a time.

Now all we need is swell and time to go...

woody with a view - 1-6-2014 at 08:14 PM

prolly the smallest winter overall in years. not that huge waves are optimal, but it has been flat more days than head high or larger.....

OMG

captkw - 1-6-2014 at 08:16 PM

Jeeez,,maybe AGENDA 21 is not so bad after all..........LOL !!

I used to do the coast from SF to SD in a Vanagon. Problem is, the state parks all hit $35/night to camp(probably went up since then). I usually get the Crowne in Garden Grove for ~$55/night on Hotwire. You can be to Trestles pretty quick, or HB, or any number of other places nearby.
