Don Eddie's hotel

The location on the water is nice, but the hotel rooms need a good cleaning and some updating in my opinion, the linens were old, thread bare, and tired. I've seen worse though.

The place was really deserted, that's not necessarily a bad thing, as it is was quiet, but it seemed kind of creepy LOL. Nobody in the restaurant, nobody anywhere around except 2 staff members for the hotel and restaurant, not one car, and when we first drove up we thought they were shut down, it just seemed kind of abandoned.

At one time (and perhaps maybe these days too I don't know), it may have been a great place, and very popular from the pictures on the walls it looks like a lot of good times went on there...but it really needs some revamping. I'm not a hotel snob, and I love casual funky places the best, but this one just seemed like it needs some love, refreshing, and attention!

I think it was around 35 bucks

It's in San Quintin

True enough, BajaLuna...

Don Eddies has been suffering economically for a few years. Fixing the problem would probably require more money than would be feasible. Too bad, but that road in can sometimes be a nightmare. We have stayed there in the past...70's and 80's when it was a popular destination resort for anglers, hunters and travelers.

I had a memorable dinner there the last time...guessing about 10 years ago....a nice plate of barbequed ribs. Memorable enough that I took this photo.

I recall the rooms were good enough (back in the day, we were just glad to find a roof and a bed!), but is was extremely cold and the portable-heater glowed a fiery red all night...and hissed at us. We didn't sleep very well....

Let's hope for the best at Don Eddies.

hey its old and a little run down.... but its on the water and they really cater to fisherman, docks, pangas, ice and cleaning stations. So if your looking for some great pictures of a flower....... move on down the road. Want to fish, load your ice chest with fillets, and have a great crab dinner. Don Eddies will give you the fix.

A welcome Pacifico is still happening at the Old Mill...

The Old Mill hotel doesn't have a restaurant. Los Pinos bought it and renamed it Molino Viejo (Old Mill).

Didn't the Resturant Burn down about 5 or 6 years ago ?????

Yes, the restaurant, tackle shop, t-shirt area, and all the old historical photos went down with the fire. After that, the entire place went downhill.

And you are right Krystal, the entire place needs a make-over, even the bar stinks. The employee attitude doesn't help either. They do have good water pressure and hot showers.
However...
You can't beat the view and quietness of the bay at sunset time.
