Broncos vs Chargers wager anyone? Fish Tacos?

TheColoradoDude - 1-10-2014 at 12:47 PM

So I was watching my local NBC news and there has been a wager placed between our affiliates. I thought it was kind of odd that San Diego offered up some fish tacos from Rubio's, only because we have Rubio's here. The full wager was a case of our Fat Tire beer for a case of your Green Flash plus fish tacos from Rubio's.

Then I had an idea.:light: How about I bet 2 $30 dollar gift cards to Rubio's that the Broncos will be victorious come this Sunday.

These can be purchased here with free shipping (5-7) days.

So how about it CHARGER Fans???

So what 2 Nomads would like to take me up on this wager?

We can exchange addresses after Sunday. I mean I will send you my address after the game this Sunday. :tumble:

GAME ON!!!!

Also I would love to hear your thoughts of the best fish tacos around San Diego. I have had some pretty amazing fish tacos and South Beach bar & Grill stands out in my memory.

David K - 1-10-2014 at 12:58 PM

Overconfidence is what doomed the Broncos last time we went up to play in Denver.

I will be at the Campo de Cahuenga historical reenactment of Alta California surrendering to American forces, in L.A. by Universal Studios, to promote our book... so I am bummed to not be able to see the game!

I agree. San Diego has had our number more often than not. I respect the competitiveness and tenacity of Phillip Rivers. The Broncos have all the pressure riding on them. Should be a great game.

Peyton is known for choking. Last I checked he's like 9-11 in the post season.

Sports fans are the adult equivalent of little kids watching cartoons. A meaningless waste of time that could be spent FISHING.;)

TheColoradoDude - 1-10-2014 at 02:15 PM

Oh If I could I would be jigging for Yellow Tail but since that is not an option right now in Colorado all I have to look forward to are some tasty fish tacos courtesy of a couple Charger fans.

Bajaboy - 1-10-2014 at 04:59 PM

That's not a fair bet...Fat Tire is not even in the same league as Green Flash...which I happen to be enjoying now.:light:

Terry28 - 1-10-2014 at 05:11 PM

I believe the current line on the game is Denver --8 1/2...gotta think that one over..

BajaRun - 1-10-2014 at 06:35 PM

I have to pass on the bet, Chargers are lucky to even be there..... however I think the best Fish Tacos in San Diego County are at the place at San Elijo State Beach in Encinitas

Kinda like being on this board:cool::cool:

BornFisher - 1-10-2014 at 06:53 PM

Spread is 9 1/2 to 10. Give my Chargers 10 and you`re on for 30. BUT---- not Rubios, I make better fish tacos than that mush caca from Rubios!!
BTW Bull Taco at the San Elijo state beach is AWESOME (like BajaRun said)!!!! Can`t beat the view or food!!

liknbaja127 - 1-10-2014 at 07:30 PM

Likey!

Having lived most of my life in Denver, I have an interest in the Mile High Donkeys. The Chargers are just a tad too powder blue for me.

At 10 points, take the underdog in NFL. But, I don't like the game, so, my bets will go elsewhere this weekend.

durrelllrobert - 1-10-2014 at 07:55 PM

even if they lose there's still the new legalization offset. No penalty for illegal contact there.

acadist - 1-10-2014 at 07:58 PM

GO BRONCOS!!!!!

bajadock - 1-10-2014 at 08:18 PM

In Denver, the Pepsi Center for basketball and hockey is known as "The Can". Coors Field for baseball is known as "The Keg".

The new Mile High Stadium was first nicknamed "The Diaphragm", for its likeness to a contraceptive device. "The Bowl" may fit in better with its neighbors "Can" and "Keg", if you smell what's smokin' in the Mile High City.

When the Chargers eliminate the Broncos from the play offs this Sunday. I hope all you Bronco Fans will come out in support of the Chargers on Super Bowl Sunday, I think I have an extra Jersy you could wear.

TheColoradoDude - 1-10-2014 at 11:14 PM

I will be rooting for AFC West the whole way! Heck i have always wanted a #85 Jersey.

bajadogs - 1-10-2014 at 11:42 PM

Yes! 3rd place out of four teams in the AFC West and the Chargers are in the play-offs!!

DITTO!!! Green Flash is the BEST! When they were off Palomar Airport Road I would swing in for a pint or 4. Lots of other great options in the area bajaboy. Let me know when you are up for a C-Bad Vista brew tour. Great stuff happening up here.

Chargers by 2.

if not. whatever...it's 80º and I don't care.

Peace to all

Bubba - 1-11-2014 at 03:46 AM

Sorry Charger fans but this is about to get embarrassing. I'm still surprised they managed to squeak their way in. They'll be on the couch come Monday.

Russ - 1-11-2014 at 06:55 AM

Go Sea Chickens!

TheColoradoDude - 1-11-2014 at 11:47 PM

Okay I will give 7 points. So the Broncos have to win by 8 right?

currently 44 degrees, last I heard possible gusts to 20 mph;D

kboy24 - 1-12-2014 at 10:16 AM

Chargers have a great shot at beating these guys (again) Perfect weather for an outdoor game. Let's see what the defense has in store for them. Should be a great game.....

TMW - 1-12-2014 at 10:59 AM

Go team. Having lived in SD I have been a Charger fan until Turner took over but now with a new coach and things looking better I'm back. But I also like PM, always have, so I root for him too. I would like to see him go out with another Superbowl ring.

woody with a view - 1-12-2014 at 11:18 AM

BOLT UP!!!

49ers

Skipjack Joe - 1-12-2014 at 01:49 PM

It's over !!!!!!

Ateo - 1-12-2014 at 02:25 PM

Go Chargers!

Random:

bc4me - 1-12-2014 at 03:54 PM

The way it's going the bolts are going to get their butts kicked by the donkeys.

Ateo - 1-12-2014 at 04:11 PM

Yep. Chargers look really bad. They've made way too many mistakes already.

Bubba - 1-12-2014 at 05:02 PM

Those Chargers will be hearing "Omaha" in their sleep.

Ateo - 1-12-2014 at 05:17 PM

Game over. Denver wins. Manning was in total control.

bc4me - 1-12-2014 at 05:18 PM

What a bad call. Where was the tripping on that pass interference. It looked like he fell down on purpose. BS call.

Ateo - 1-12-2014 at 05:53 PM

When you only play 1 quarter you can't beat Peyton Manning. They WERE playing those other 3 quarters, but Denver was dominating.

All in all, they had a good season.

[Edited on 1-13-2014 by Ateo]

David K - 1-12-2014 at 06:01 PM

Listened to the second half coming back to San Marcos from L.A.... it was 0-24, and what a change... but Jon is correct, you can't be good for just one quarter. However, getting within one TD when the clock ran out was impressive.

Terry28 - 1-12-2014 at 06:06 PM

BUTTTTT...on the good side they covered the point spread!!!

Bob H - 1-12-2014 at 06:20 PM

Manning had a banner day. The Chargers needed to abandon the running game earlier and do what they did in the 4th quarter. Let Rivers do his thing and throw that pigskin down field!!

Great win for Denver!

Yeah there some peeed off betters right now! Probably were counting their money when.............. whooooooops!! Money goes to the Charger betters!!!!
Oh yeah now gotta root for the Broncos!!

Skipjack Joe - 1-12-2014 at 09:11 PM

I didn't see the entire game but it looked as though the Chargers don't have a very good defense. They couldn't pressure Manning enough and couldn't stop Bronco's last drive at 21-14 when it was paramount to regain possession.

TheColoradoDude - 1-13-2014 at 12:15 PM

Broncos got lucky on 3 and 17 at the end. Quite nerve wracking. Sure glad Rivers didn't get the ball back because all I could think of was a quick score and then a 2 point conversion for the win.

Good game folks!

New England

dpwahoo - 1-13-2014 at 01:21 PM

Yes, Nice effort, but can they beat New England?:P

Odds

dpwahoo - 1-13-2014 at 01:25 PM

Denver minus 4 and a half, Seattle minus 3 and a half.:o

That is quite a good question. I will have a better answer on Monday.:bounce:

bajadogs - 1-15-2014 at 11:56 PM

Good job Donkey fans. Chargers are in re-build mode and they did OK, giving me a bit of hope for next year. I'm liking Seattle to dominate the 9'ers. Not gonna ruin my day either way. I probably won't even watch. The Donks will get worked by The Pats.

Superbowl? - I'm liking the Seahawks. (Well, at least I'll root for a west coast team and I still might be wandering around the desert during the game because I don't have cable and don't really care about a bunch of over-paid thugs who beat their machismo skulls into each other.)

When do pitchers report to Yuma? :D

Skipjack Joe - 1-16-2014 at 12:03 AM

The Seahawks are banning the sale of tickets to the NFC game to anyone from california.

What a totally classless act.

Hope they eat dirt in this game.
