Tecate / East Cape

Bienpadre - 1-11-2014 at 08:36 AM

1/6/2014 we crossed the border at Tecate, sans problems. Customs guys were polite, checked us out in the declare lane, and passed us through after minor questions.. ie, "Show us the raccoon trap"

Tecate to Ensenada, road good, moderate truck traffic
Ensenada to Santo Tomas, bridge work, minor delays
ST to San Vicente, 13 miles of by-pass, cobbled dirt, bumpy
SV to El Rosario, some pot holes, needs repaving
El Rosario, to Nuevo Rosarito, plenty of pot holes, rough places
NR to Gerrero Negro, ok, some rough spots
GN to Santa Junkalia, road fine
Santa Junkalia, a mess
Santa Junkalia to Loreto, road fine, pavement good..
Loreto to la Paz.. road good, traffic light
La Paz to East Cape..road fine, good pavement..:smug::rolleyes:

Welcome to Nomad and thanks for the summary... So you didn't care for Santa Rosalia, eh?

Well Santa Rosalia (Junkalia) and Guerrero Negro (Gerrero Negro) both began as mining 'company' towns, so neither resemble other Baja or Mexican towns much.

If you have photos, please share them! The how to is in the top post in the Baja Photos forum here at Nomad.
