We are crossing the border at TJ early in the morning... around 4:00am. So would love to get some pesos before we cross but I am sure everything will
be closed.
Any sugesstion? Any where in San Diego that might have them at a ok rate?

Many people use the ATM machine at the third (?) tollgate near Ensenada for pesos.
You might pull off at San Ysidro and see if any Casa de Cambios are open. Look for No commision signs.

We've never seen a cambio in the US open at 4AM and never have gotten a good rate from them.
Costco used to sell them in San Diego if you go there a couple days in advance.
Wait and get your pesos at a Mexican bank.
Thru Ensanada dollars can be used for gas at a good rate. No problem.
There is an easy bank just north of San Quintin, It's in Camalu or Vincent Guerrero on the left as you travel down. Park in back. You will probably
pass before it opens.
Guerrero Negro's bank is at the end of the main drag in town. Lots of parking.
Santa Rosalia's banks are in the middle of town. Santa Rosalia is 50 minutes north of Mulege and is a great experience.
Have fun....

220 miles south of the border in El Rosario is the Baja Cactus Pemex station. Not only are dollars accepted at the current rate of exchange, but it is
one of the few Pemexs that accept Visa or Mastercard. As there is no more 'sure gas stations' for another 200 miles, this is the place to fill up,
anyway.
