Many concerned residents of La Salina and the surrounding areas want to know, what can we do if we need an ambulance. Thankfully, a resident nurse of
Bajamar investigated and found out that brand new CAPUFE ambulances are parked at the entrance to the free road to Ensenada. They will travel as far
south as Bajamar to assist anyone in a medical emergency. On my route south of La Fonda today, the medics greeted me very nicely and what gorgeous
state of the art ambulances were parked at La Fonda. I was allowed on the Toll Road south to my meeting today. It was very foggy and the road had an
eerie feel to it driving with no one on it. Cruz Roja at La Mision will only travel south to Ensenada, since La Mision is considered in Ensenada
municipality. Dianamed can be called for an ambulance to the border, but that is $1000 or more and they come from Ensenada. Cruz Roja Primo Tapia
will respond to Bajamar and north and take you to Rosarito General Hospital and Tijuana. The residents today agreed that since most of them have US
insurance, if it is not absolutely essential, they will be heading to the US via the border for treatment.

You are welcome. Ateo, it looks like residents are already looking north to the US for emergency treatment. They all feel that in a cardiovascular
emergency such as a stroke or heart attack, why stop in Tijuana or Rosarito. The Director of Rosarito General Hospital told a Bajamar resident that
they weren't equipped to do any invasive procedures such as angioplasty, bypass surgery. Tijuana does have the facilities, but if you go as far as
Tijuana residents are saying then why not just "jump the fence" and hop over to the nearest US hospital that can handle this level of treatment. The
toll road disaster has created a whole new mindset for these residents.
