We were planning to spend tomorrow night in Catavina, however when looking on the Hotel Mision's website it says No Pets Allowed. We have a dog.
However, the site is sort of an umbrella corporate site so I'm hoping that message is just boilerplate. Unfortunately the phone # there sends you to a
reservation hotline for many hotels, and the rep there was unable to answer the pet question or actually give me a local phone # for the HM.
Any info would be appreciated - I'd hate to show up and be turned away due to a pet in the middle of nowhere, though that doesn't seem the Baja way...

I asked in October of 2013 there and at the hotel in San Quintin and both places responded yes.

Look to stay before or after Catavina. The hotel will accept pets - for a fee - and not a small one. Close to 300 pesos as I recall.

Just do what I do:
Have a couple beers in the parking lot to loosen up then grab your dog and just walk right thru the lobby as if you're a regular.
Works every time. JK.

Actually I did do this once after driving 15 hours that day to find that they had 1 room left and it was not a dog room. We squeezed two families in
that room.
I put the dog in the front seat for the night and she was freaking out big time. My wife finally demanded that I get the dog in the room or tie her
(the dog, not my wife) to the bumper. I didn't want to leave her out there all night tied to the bumper so I had a few Tecates to loosen up, and just
walked her right into the hotel as if I had full approval.
I'm sorry to all the people out there that'll say this was wrong, but it was my wife's orders. I always book ahead with pet friendly places nowadays.

We stay there often with our pets, 2 dogs and 2 cats. It is 180 pesos for pets as I recall. I don't say I have 2 dogs and 2 cats, I just say I have
"pets". I take them all through the main lobby going in and out, nobody has ever said anything about it.

do NOT tie a dog to anything in Baja and leave it alone! Coyotes will think it's a buffet invitation...
As I drove into San Miguel tonight a very healthy coyote ran across the road to welcome me and poodle, who is now staying with me at all times...
PS-- I have travelled with large/small dogs and stayed at various Baja hotels, and agree with advice: walk in like you belong there. If they question
you, "better to apologize than ask permission."

I revoked my post about shooting any fool that would tie up a dog to a bumpber or anything!! they will/would not stand a chance of living or defending
themselves....Peache gringo's !!

I didn't tie the dog to the bumper. That was my wife's idea. Oh, and she is not a gringo.
I did the best thing I could for my dog and brought her in the room. My wife didn't think about the coyote factor.

blood boil..NOW..I understand your post !!! THEM COYOTES ARE OUT FOR FOOD...FINE...BUT NOT A DOG TIED TO ANYTHING....good on you !!
